This is Part 3 of my retrospective
tribute to the cast (see Part 1: "Let
the River Run" and Part 2: "Such
Great Heights"). This completes this fan video series. The
West Wing resulted from the collaboration of so many creative and
talented people--the creators, writers, cast and crew.
This
video showcases the cast actors and crew in behind-the-scenes
clips as they film the show (includes bloopers). Contains other
media clips. Features most of the crew (some of who you'll finally
get to see) and the interviewed cast mates. Please rate and
comment.

This is Part 2 of my retrospective
tribute to the cast (see "Let
the River Run" for Part 1 of the Trilogy). This new video
shows the actors at 'such great heights' during the awards shows.
In its heyday, The West Wing won
13 Emmy awards in its first season and won many more. This made it
the most honored drama in its first year.
This
video also shows the cast actors behind-the-scenes as they film
the show (includes bloopers). Has other media clips and an award
montage.

The
video begins with L/L's 1st date as Luke describes how he and
Lorelai first met. The video is from Luke's POV about how from the
very first, Lorelai has stolen Luke's heart. Pans to moments when
Luke felt great love for Lorelai.
I started this fan video about one YEAR ago! I took a break for
some months, but also, doing the polaroid effects took a lot of
work and time.
Lorelai reminisces about her life. She rifles through old things
and photographs. She's had good times and bad times. She's been
hurt and comforted. She's had many men.
I tried to make an angsty, Lorelai POV
video. The original "Breathe Me" music video had a cool photograph
stacking effect, and I tried to do it here. There are some video
problems, but I can't seem to get rid of it.
2007 is the first year since The
West Wing went off the air. In this vid I wanted to show
how empty the sets and hallways are without our favorite staffers.
Of course, on TWW the White House is always bustling and people
are everyone. I had to find appropriate footage of the set,
which took a long time. I hope the audio works well with the
video, but it's the first time I've done this type of fanvid.
The song is instrumental and the original.
Comment please.
For those who've voted on which video
you'd like to see, here's the winner. This is a retrospective
tribute to our favorite civil servants. Follows the Bartlet for
America campaign trail, to the Bartlet tenure in The White House,
to the new incoming administration. Yes, you'll find them here--POTUS,
FLOTUS, Leo, Toby, Josh, CJ, Sam, Donna, Charlie, Margaret, Danny,
and others. Who? You'll just have to watch closely, I tried to put
in all the WW staffers as best I could given the time.
I originally wanted to use this song
for the women of the West Wing, with the focus of, like Melanie
Griffith getting her office in "Working Girl." But it's so
upbeat, optimistic, happy and inspirational that I used it for all
the White House staffers.
That was a West Wing that will go down
in history as one filled with hope, compassion, achievement and
optimism, whose dedicated staffers have earned their keep, and our
hearts. We miss you.

Lorelai's response to Luke excluding her from his life and April's
life has been to avoid and shut him out. Luke was clueless to her
feelings, and now he learns it's too late. "To see you caving in,
I'm undone. And to say it's the last time again, It's the end."
Note: My vidmaker kept freezing on another project. To test if new
ones worked, I did a quick GG vid. This here's the product. :-)
Did you love"Desire" in
King Corn as sung by Ryan Adams? I did, and wanted to use it for a
fanvid, but the episode scenes were already so good that any vid
had to have an extra special something. For the first time I used
a full-length side-by-side effect to capture the parallel lives of Josh
and Donna, and those moments when their hopes and desires finally
intersected.
I assume most already saw the WW
scenes, and the split- screens are in slow-motion, so it'll be
easy to
watch. JD apart/out-of-sync are on split-screen; JD back
together on merged screen. I allowed J/D to switch left/right
screen sides (no horizontal mirroring), to keep scenes as
originally aired. I spent much time creating this "Dual Screen"
style and movie effect, so please
take a moment to comment. Feedback is love. :-)
"You know me. You don't mind
waiting. You just can't show me, but God I'm praying, That you'll
find me, and that you'll see me, That you run and never tire.
Desire."
"L'Evocation" -- Luke/Lorelai
Fan-Trailer Award Winner!
About: Gilmore Girls Luke/Lorelai
Song: L'Evocation
(instrumental) with spoken dialogue.
This is my first foray into
fan-trailers, which I did because my GG vids aren't done. I love
the instrumental piece here, which goes from hopeful to
foreboding. Contains spoken dialogue.
TWW is all about the hustle & bustle,
the walks & talks. Yet this couple finds that the silent moments
and unspoken feelings that they have is their haven from the
madness of the world.
Donna became increasingly frustrated
with Josh and how he treated her ambition for a better career.
Josh didn't share with her his own questions about which
politician to back next. The tension led to Donna quitting, and
continued throughout the campaign trail.
I've always wanted to make this video
since LL's big fight of Winter '05. Finally done, it's my first GG
vid. Lorelai's thoughts about the breakup and her need to speak to
Luke.
Alright, technically this is my first
WW fan video. A re- enactment of Josh & Donna's first kiss in "The
Cold." Original audio clip used (Dizzy Gillespie's "Bang Bang").
Scenes and cuts follow the story and dialogue.
In my defense, my younger sister was
on spring break, she plays with them, she gave me the idea, and I
was bored. Dolls and costume courtesy of her (Grip Hand #1). Made
to bring the funny. I personally love the permanent goofy
look on Ken-Josh's face. An all-purpose reaction! You can compare
with the original clip, also provided above.
Thoughts on whether I should make more
like this (which is of course dependent on my sister's time &
ability to share her dolls)?
Donna wants an answer from Josh--now that they're together,
does he plan to
make a commitment? He has 4 weeks to think
about his feelings, their past and future. But does he already know? Has
he known for years? "Never thought I could love you, never
thought I could need you, never thought I could want you...the way
I do." Josh resisted jealousy and look at what Donna has
done. But in the end....Josh & Donna through the years, revisited.
My favorite sequence is towards the
end.
