Reprise and Shine

"Reprise and Shine" is a fansite. It is unofficial and is not affiliated with any of the featured shows, actors, or artists. I will be posting my favorite shows' information here. I originally wanted to create this site to place my fan-created multimedia. This is my first published website, so I'm constantly in the learning, designing and tweaking stages. More content will be added.

The Site name: re·prise according to www.dictionary.com:

n., Music. A repetition of a phrase or verse./ A return to an original theme.
n., A recurrence or resumption of an action.
v., repeat an earlier theme of a composition

Reviewing shows and creating fan music videos requires new interpretations and re-compositions, and that's the main idea. The rest of the title is a play on 'Rise and Shine.' But obviously I hope that my work on this site 'shines' (hover over this page's banner's title and you'll see what I mean). There you go, a little serious, a little cheesy and a website is born. I'll also probably add more shows than the three currently featured, but I figured I'd better get the ones already here done.

I blame this entire fan endeavor on The West Wing, and a song by Marcos Hernandez. :-) Why? I heard the song, it fit with TWW's Josh and Donna's storyline, and I just had to make the video. It's not the first time I was inspired like that, but it helped that I had WW sets. Then I heard more songs that would fit with different shows' couples, so I listed those possibilities. After I made my first fan video (I've made personal ones before), I then thought I simply must share it with people, and it just had to sit on a website so I could stretch out my creative skills as well as my patience with Photoshop, Frontpage, & Moviemaker (with a dabble in Flash). :-) I've spent a lot, a lot, a lot of time in making this site at least semi-visually-presentable. Plus, in making the music videos. As such, I hope you'll take the time to view them and suggest my site to others. I hope you enjoy the contents. Feedback is much appreciated! Updates: the Main page has an accurate "last update" info. I'm very busy. I've got a seriously demanding life and work, so I work on this hobby when I can. At least the time-consuming task of making the site is done! I try to keep up with news alerts for each show and its actors, but I don't always post them. My LiveJournal is more up-to-date.

I've got my three major favorite shows on this website. There are others, but making/maintaining the website and the fan videos are overwhelming enough. :-) Perhaps after I add enough content, I can think about adding my other shows. Then again, the thought of changing my main collage is disheartening. That took me a long while to make. You'll probably just end up seeing various shows on the multimedia page under 'others.'

There you've got my best-hits. Why these three? I've invested a lot of time, passion and imagination to these 3 wonderful, superbly well-written shows. They have been around very long, each providing many hours of viewing pleasure. Yes, I know that 2 of the 3 have ended their run, and that GG's moving to the CW network and has undergone a bad year, (imho). But we can't choose the shows we love, can we? Ok, maybe you can. Hopefully I can explain my obsession further in each of the shows' main page. But that's still under construction for the most part. So forget about the 'cause' for now. Look at the effect--view the available music vids, or follow links to established websites.

I go by the name Viddersweet. The name's a variation on the Click Five song "Just the Girl." You know, 'Cause she's Bittersweet, she knocks you off of my feet.' It's the same username I use on my site, my vids, and my LiveJournal. I'm a female in her 20's. I am an American, and have lived in big and small cities here in the United States. Hobbies include currently practicing vidding. I find that it's an outlet for my imaginative, creative personality. I don't watch that much tv, really. If the cosmos align properly (I'm watching tv, it's the right night, the remote hits the network, it's not a commercial, and I turn my head away from my computer or laundry to gaze at the screen) I find ones that intrigue or appeal to me one way or another, and I become a devotee. What can I say, when I'm hooked, I'm hooked. The rest you can find out by reading my posts on LJ and on this site. And obviously, some part of me lives in the videos I create.
